LORENZO LASCIATO LIBERO DAL TEAM KTM-P&D

Lorenzo Lanzi e Stefano Caracchi hanno purtroppo già concluso il loro accordo 2009, ma non certo per un contrasto fra i due, anzi! Un talento come quello del pilota di Cesena non poteva rimanere a
lungo fuori del giro iridato, ed al ritorno del Mondiale Superbike in Europa alcune squadre non completamente soddisfatte delle scelte effettuate ad inizio stagione lo hanno contattato. Stefano
Caracchi non ha avuto il coraggio di negare a Lorenzo questa opportunità ed ha sciolto, ovviamente con molto rammarico, l’accordo che lo legava a lui.

La squadra bolognese sta adesso cercando un sostituto per disputare il Campionato Italiano Velocità Superbike 2009 con le nuove KTM RC8R, ma questa decisione giunta alla vigilia della
gara iniziale di Misano costringerà la squadra a rinunciare alla gara d’esordio.

Stefano Caracchi (Team Owner & Manager): “La partenza di Lorenzo sconvolge un po’ i nostri programmi 2009, ma l’offerta che ha ricevuto era troppo allettante e non ce la siamo sentiti, per
l’amicizia ed il rispetto reciproco che ci lega, di negargli questa possibilità che la sua bravura merita ampliamente. Ovviamente ci siamo subito mossi per trovare un pilota in sostituzione, ma i migliori sono già impegnati ed è tutto accaduto così in fretta, per cui abbiamo molti contatti, ma al momento nessuna soluzione certa. Siamo costretti così a rinunciare alla gara di Misano, ma
speriamo di essere al via della gara di Monza. Per adesso possiamo solo augurare a Lorenzo Lanzi tutti i successi che la sua classe ed il suo talento meritano in questa nuova sfida.”

Lorenzo Lanzi (pilota Superbike): “Stefano si è dimostrato ancora una volta un grande amico, con un cuore enorme; è stato un pilota di alto livello anche lui e sa quale tempesta si scatena nel cuore di un pilota in queste circostanze. Sono ovviamente contento di rientrare nell’ambiente del Mondiale Superbike e spera che il grande sacrificio che il Team KTM – SC P&D ha fatto per me
possa essere ricompensato, sia con un buon campionato da parte mia che con il successo per loro, anche se perdendo la prima gara, alla quale la nuova squadra non ha potuto concedermi il
permesso di partecipare, le cose saranno ancora più difficili. Grazie ancora a Stefano, Franco e Roberto per quanto hanno fatto per me”.

La seconda delle sei prove in programma del CIV 2009 è prevista per il prossimo 3 maggio sulla
pista di Monza.

TEAM KTM-P&D LET FREE LORENZO FOR WSBK

Lorenzo Lanzi and Stefano Caracchi did already finished their agreement for 2009 season, but not for some disagreement, on the contrary! A talent as Lorenzo could not stay for long time out of WSBK arena, and when the circus Superbike went back to Europa some team, not completely satisfied for the choice made at the beginning of the season, did contact him. Stefano Caracchi has not had the heart to forbid Lorenzo this possibility and untied, of course with a great regret, the agreement with him.

The team based in Bologna is now looking for a rider to contest the 2009 Superbike Italian Champioship with the new KTM RC8R, but this decision just at the eve of the first round of Misano forces the team to miss the debut event.

Stefano Caracchi (Team Owner & Manager): “The leaving of Lorenzo throws into a bit confusion our 2009 programs, but the proposal that Lorenzo received was too inviting and I’ve not had the feel, for the freedom and mutual esteem we have each other, to refuse to give our consent for this possibility that his talent deserves. Of course we started immediately to look around for a new rider, but the most interesting riders are already engaged and everything happened so quickly that we opened several contacts, but at the moment any concrete solution. We are forced in such
circumstances to miss the race of Misano, but we are confident to be present on the grid at Monza. For the moment we are just able to wish to Lorenzo all the success that his class and his talent deserve in his new challenge.”

Lorenzo Lanzi (Superbike rider): “Stefano showed to everybody to be, once more, a great friend, with a big heart. He is a former top rider too and he knows exactly which raging storm is in the
heart of a rider in such circumstances. I’m of course very happy to rejoin the WSBK circus and I hope that the big privation that the Team KTM – SC P&D is making to help me could have early his
prize, both with a successful championship for me and with a great success for them, as well missing the first race, because my new team couldn’t allow me to start, their challenge will be
more difficult. A big thank once more to Stefano, Franco and Roberto for what they’ve done for me.”

The second out of six rounds of the CIV 2009 is scheduled for next May 3rd at Monza.
